The BBC’s Andrew Marr Show made extremely interesting viewing earlier today as song-writing legends Squeeze changed the lyrics to one of their songs live on the air.
The change was directed at David Cameron who was also live in the studio and sitting metres away from them.
The Prime Minister was forced to sit and listen as the lyrics to the band’s song ‘Cradle To The Grave’ (which is the title track from their latest album) were changed to:
“I grew up in council houses, part of what made Britain great, there are some here who are hell bent, on the destruction of the welfare state.”

Squeeze made their name in the ’70’s releasing songs such as ‘Cool For Cats’ and ‘Up The Junction’. They released their first studio album of new and original songs last year after an absence of 17 years.
