London’s Eliza And The Bear are currently on the road touring the UK and also doing some in store performances and signings to promote the release of their debut album. I was lucky enough to see the boys play an acoustic set in Fopp Nottingham last night.
The 5 piece released their self titled debut album last week and looked very at ease playing some of the tracks to the gathered crowd. James, Martin and Callie took centre stage while Paul and Chris watched the proceedings from a safe distance.
We were treated to four songs from the album, some of which were already known. Light It Up, It Gets Cold and Friends have been getting some play already whilst Oxygen is an album track.
With gentle banter between the members it was nice to see that they clearly enjoy playing together and to their audience. James sounded in fine voice and I always find it a joy to see that when bands play stripped back and acoustic that they can knock it out of the park and prove their talent. Which they did without question.
They were kind enough to sign copies of their album which I look forward to hearing in full soon. A review may well appear on these very pages.
These guys are a band to look out for so catch them live if you can. Details of the tour and upcoming festival appearances are on their website here.
Their album is available now online and in the usual places.
