Your weekly update on the new music that has caught our attention.
Baum Jr. releases his debut double A side single on Friday 28 October. Describing his genre as ‘Next-Gen-8-bit’ his influences are from film scores and game soundtracks from the 1980s. The debut features a cover of the Garbage song When I Grow Up and includes his signature electronic 8-bit sound. Heroes is the other single and you can take a listen to both below and follow Ste on all the usual social media sites including Facebook.
Melanie Crew is from London and is a singer and musician who writes gentle acoustic music with soulful melodies. Her latest EP Further Away was released this month and features 6 beautiful tracks of haunting lyrics and wonderful acoustics. Palace Winter were a recommendation from one of our followers (thanks Richard). The band hail from Melbourne and Copenhagen and feature Australian singer-songwriter Carl Coleman and Danish producer and pianist Caspar Hesselage. Their debut album Waiting For The World To Turn was released in June this year and has been highly received. They are on tour at the moment and you can find the dates here. Check out the track H.W.
